I'm glad he is ok.
Goes to show, do not take traffic stops for granted, nor your VEST!!!
I sometimes hear officers being amused at traffic cars and beat guys that perform alot of stops, and I could never figure out why.
NEVER take a stop for granted.

I am relieved that the officer is realatively unharmed.
It serves as a great reminder that the "routine" stop is anything but routine. Always call out on the stops with the plate, vehicle description and location. For those that don't were your vest, here is a good reminder. If you are going to wear that target called a badge on your chest, atleast wear the vest underneath it.
Oh yeah, and not having all your gear on your duty belt just screams I am no longer the police and can not back up my officers anymore (that is to you command type desk commandos who choose to wear a garrison belt with gun only)

Officer shows patience as cat crawls on him during traffic stop

Here's a police videocam story that isn't about a violent beating or an unfortunate Tasering. Instead, it shows a very patient Texas police officer trying to write a ticket while a stray cat crawls all over him.
Taylor Daily Press reporter Jason Schaefer says local officer Keith Urban had stopped an SUV on a rural road near an old farm and was writing a ticket when the year-old black cat comes up through the weeds.
As Urban writes, the cat starts climbing up and down the officer's pants leg and across his shoulders.
Urban tries to shoo the cat away gently several times, finally giving it a friendly boot, with the videocam taking it all in.
You can also see the video by clicking here. For a shorter version, click here for ITN's report.
Police Chief Jeff Straub says he found out about the incident and the video when a very earnest Officer Urban came in to apologize, the newspaper says.
"(Urban) came in and said, 'Hey, you know, I kind of kicked this cat away from me, and I'm sorry,' " Straub tells the newspaper. "He was trying to get it away from him and kind of launched it. Of course the cat thought it was great fun and wanted to come back."
Straub says the video shows the officer's "incredible patience" as well as how police must deal with a wide variety of unusual situations.
Urban tells the paper the cat didn't dig in with his claws, so he didn't feel any pain.
"I think the driver of that vehicle was laughing a little bit, " he says. "And the driver even offered to get out of the vehicle and remove the cat."
