Lexington police officer killed in hit-and-run

It was embarassing that only a couple of guys from LMPD were there in uniform when Pete was added.

Frankfort is only for FOP members, most law enforcement officers who have been LODDs in recent years have not been FOP members, so they don't appear on that memorial. Only the one in Richmond includes everyone. It was truly appalling a couple of years ago when LMPD had maybe five people present when they added a "lost officer" to the memorial - an officer who died in 1937 from a line of duty motorcycle wreck in 1936, Willis Coy. And a couple of those were there by accident! Don't they even tell you all about these event? People from all over the state show up, and when an agency adds an officer, there is usually a large contingent from the agency, but not Louisville. (I don't count the folks who are assigned to go, like the honor detail, although of course it is good for them to be there - I'm talking about the folks who take time from their busy days to pay honor to a fallen Kentucky officer without being paid to do it.)
