Okolona woman sues over SWAT team break-in

If your son wasn't such a pervert dirtbag none of this would have ever happened. The attorneys kill me with always being so gung-ho to prosecute then when it's time to put up or shut up they back down. So now because of a few weak people i'll have to sift through 30 more new policies this week in my email. Oh and wasn't this the warrant where that douchebag Milburn pulled up in front of the house while SWATT was still trying to set up a perimeter? Who cares about safety and the element of surprise when you have "The Punk" out front with his rosco!

"Michael Ramage, who lived with his mother, wasn't home at the time of the search, as police expected. Canon says that if he posed such a risk, police could have arrested him before the search. Canon said he Ramage was on a family outing with his children at the time."

Really? Last time I checked, a "search warrant" is just that, a warrant to search, not arrest.

There's an ongoing case right now with LMPD as a defendant where an occupant of the premise was detained "at some distance" away from the location named in the warrant, and the plaintiffs' attorney is making a big deal out of that detainment (that person was not arrested).

How convenient for this particular attorney to try to "turn it around" to suit their needs in this particular suit.

I am shocked that with a pervert son, she is concerned about her back door and not the grandkids. Wow...If my son was shooting naked pictures of grandchildren, my splintered back door would be my last concern. Oh well, just goes to show how messed up our society has really become. Atty's will take up any cause and people will sue to cover up their own failings. She's just embarrased about the public knowing what was going on the that home. Perhaps, she should clean up her own house before attempting to right another's perceived wrongs. I can only hope that this case gets tossed out, but if they hurry, king jerry can write another check with nothing to show for it. I just wonder if she will have to fight him in court and appeal it over and over prior to the settlement. I doubt it though, she didn't seem to work in public safety. I can hardly wait for the Dennis Simms show next year during in-service. (Clearly established laws, procedures for identifying suspects, proper use of rubber gloves during roadside searches, and inappropriate use of flashbangs will be on tap I am sure.)

Why can't SWAT just knock quietly and ask nicely?!! I'm positive someone who is molesting little boys will be glad to let you in, NO PROBLEM!!!

I hate these idiots that really think like this, and will probably get money for it. I want to find out what resturant she owns and tell everyone it has rats!

can you blame her for suing? the city gives money away like water from the tap. what's one more person in line?

$150,000 for being related someone that needed to be, and was, tased? - Yep, I can see people suing. She will win a fat check too.

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB Fox 41) -- Fox 41 News has learned that two veteran employees in the former Neighborhoods Department have resigned after a city audit uncovered financial irregularities.

According to a news release issued by Mayor Jerry Abramson's office, Melissa Mershon, former director of the Neighborhoods Department, and Carol Butler, a special assistant in the department, resigned Friday.

The release indicates that Mayor Abramson asked for their resignations.

The release alleges that, "while working on a planned book on Louisville neighborhoods, Mershon failed to follow the city's purchasing rules, and Butler, who is part-owner of a book publishing company, did not comply with a city personnel policy that places restrictions on employees doing business with the city."

"I am surprised and disappointed by the actions of two people who have decades of public service to the community," Abramson said. "I cannot accept such clear lapses of judgement and violation of rules."

Who cares anymore, such low morale in this dept.... the court crap, the everyday policy changing crap, holding my car fee money against my will, geeeezzzzzzz, lay down, dont do crap!!!! how much more do you people have to take to make a stand. And it sure dont seem that Granny was so worried about her grandchildren, obviously if wal-mart noticed the pic's and were disturbed by them---then there obviously was a problem with the pictures. Money-----the root of all evils, maybe she'll be able to purchase a hickory bbq pit #2 on all of the taxpayers money!!! something granny didnt work for. Makes me sick!!!!!!!! If your not writing tickets and making arrest then your not making the attorneys pockets PHAT!!!! So leave them hanging like they do us in Court before 9am waiting on them. Geeeeezzzzzz.
