Absolutely! Although I am retired now, I still invest in regular trips to the range and work out in the dojo at least twice a week. Can't count how many times I heard brother and sister officers say they were not going to the range or dojo unless they were paid for their time and equipment/ammo was supplied. It was (and still is) my opinion that if we are to be taken as professionals then we need to put forth the effort of a professional to maintain our "fit to fight" condition and stay on top of advancements in our profession. It is the slackers that cause the most grief in the tactical situations when someone gets hurt that could have been avoided or even worse, an officer is hurt trying to bail that dummy out of the situation they got themselves into.
