It is time Jefferson County and Louisville city take a hard look at consolidation. Do we really need 18-20 different fire departments? What oversite is in place with each of the individual fire departments? Isn't there a more cost effective way and fisically responsible way in which to operate and manage public safety? A statement was made that Jefferson County Fire can operate in a greater cost efficient manner than city. If that is true, why are we not doing so? Do we not owe that to the citizens
