New Fire Chief Appointed

It is time Jefferson County and Louisville city take a hard look at consolidation. Do we really need 18-20 different fire departments? What oversite is in place with each of the individual fire departments? Isn't there a more cost effective way and fisically responsible way in which to operate and manage public safety? A statement was made that Jefferson County Fire can operate in a greater cost efficient manner than city. If that is true, why are we not doing so? Do we not owe that to the citizens of Jefferson County/Louisville City? What is the total operating budget of LFR? What is the combined total operating budget of Jefferson County Fire Depts and the Total combined tax collected each year? How does each Dept. spend their dollars?
