The second half of the story... The suspect had intentionally cut himself severely but still had the knife in his pocket. We had to secure him in order to get the knife. He went unconscious about 2 minutes later due to loss of blood and ended up in room 9. Now, just imagine if our 20 year vet had tased him and he ended up dying because of his knife wound. We all would have been off for months, and the department would have had a sizable lawsuit. On a side note, there was another officer helping
