It is a simple as that. Tow sides need to sit down and talk not go through the court system. Abramson however likes to litigate everything. His answer for everything is run it through the courts. His problem is it wastes time and money better spent elsewhere.

I would like to see the FOP leadership make a statement to the media that we full intend to seek and recover interest for the monies illegally taken from us by the CANDIDATE FOR LT. GOVERNOR. Fathead is so smart but didn't know that the city was responsible for the interest on the firefighters back pay.....BS! So let us point out to the public that the CANDIDATE FOR LT. GOVERNOR can not be trusted.

ALL state employees had better wake up and realize that if Jerry, CANDIDATE FOR LT. GOVERNOR, gets in state office he willl screw them too.

PERCEPTION IS REALITY!

Maybe I'm confused, but what things are to be negotiated? We all know that if anything related to cars is negotiated in the contract it will be to our own demise. If we accept anything stupid like $30 here, or $50 there, it will only be a stumbling block against us in further negotiations. Just like insurance, it WILL go up every year. (Used to be free, now $100 month). It will NEVER go away. The mayor raised it twice in 6 months just because he thought he could.

Why do we let county government give us a **** ant 2% raise every year, then on the backside we agree to pay more in insurance, and now a possible car fee?

Lets break this down once again because no one seems to realize reality here. If you make $50,000 a year and get a 2% raise, that is an extra $1,000 a year before taxes. That means roughly $80 a month, or $40 a pay extra for your pidly 2% raise.

Why is it so hard for most officers to figure out numbers, because it is not hard for me? When you basically get an $80 a month raise every year with the pidly 2% BS, and then agree for them to take $25 a month extra every month, every year for insurance, and now a possible $30 a month OR MORE car fee? There goes at least $55 a month right off the top of your $80 that sucks to begin with.

Why do people agree to give right back what raises we are given? I'm sick of it. The 2% does not even keep pace with the cost of living. How do these contracts pass with us agreeing to pay back one to one and a half percent of the 2% we just fought for? Why do we agree to pay all these fees that keep going up every year that only TAKE AWAY from the bottom line of what we agree to? We only get a 3% in the first year of these 4 year deals to get us to sign it. I make less now than I did 5 years ago based on everything we agree to pay going up. The cost of living is going up, and the fat get fatter while they sit back and talk about how stupid we are because obviously some of us can't add up numbers correctly and realize we are getting the shaft.

Vote for Connie Marshall for Mayor!

January 15th, 2010 @ 4:01PM (14 years ago)

Most local media outlets have overlooked the mayoral candidacy of west Louisville resident Connie Marshall, a Democrat. It might be easy to blame the media, but then again it is difficult to get in contact with the long-shot candidate, considering she’s paranoid about talking on her cell phone for more than a few minutes.

In a letter to the Kentucky Democratic Party and Secretary of State Trey Grayson — which she also mailed to U.S. Attorney General Eric Holder and President Obama — Marshall complained about a lack of coverage before writing that Metro Police and the FBI are following her.

“I fear for my life,” she wrote. Marshall has made similar allegations before, during the period at the start of council meetings in which the public is invited to speak. She usually talks about government eavesdropping, surveillance and other tinfoil-hat stuff.

Can anyone give a recap of King's remarks at the meeting? I don't think he deserved a forum with us given his statement about us being whiny babies. Typical politician being two faced and expecting to get away with it.

Are there any candidates for Mayor worth supporting? Why don't they just get a computer to do the job? Can't be any worse than what we've had.
