I know of at least 7 guys who have left for other local agencies who did not retire but left because they were tired of all of the BS that continues to go on . I applaud those guys who have considered their families and their own careers and took the necessary steps to better themselves. All of them with at least 10 years experience left with not so much as a thank you or why are you leaving or kiss my ars by this adminstration. You wonder why now you see officers involved in shooting and other incidents recently that involve persons that were unarmed. One simple reason.... inexperience and lack of training Boys it is going to get alot worse before it gets better

Apparently you don't many people then...

And as to being in the same retirment, that no longer applies (hasn't for three years by the way) unless they were hired before the magic date. Your first retirment is all you get, the rest of the money (until the lawsuit is settled / decided) goes into the canton fund.

Atleast 9 of our officers are in the running for the FBI, I know three in the process for the DEA and two in the process for ATF. Also when J-Town took their last round of apps, over 110 metro officers applied. (that is 9% of out total alloted manpower trying leave)...

I agree......get your head out of the bucket. Look around you. Not only are people leaving early and taking positioins elsewhere, but as soon as they can leave they do so either with military or a flat 20. The problem with all of that is when you lose senior officers you open yourself up for more liability. The cost of training new officers is astronomical and yet we continue to shove our experience out the door instead of doing something to retain it. I wish I could call some of the guys that trained me and aske their oponion sometimes, but they are all gone!
