RE: IUS hires Louisville's Edelen as police chief
If this post doesn't scream it was written from a self-absorbed C.O....Perhaps after the administration changes and you stop fighting for a better position to boost your career, maybe you can come back to earth and start supporting the troops. The majority of C.O.s on the street are a big problem because they will not stand together and let the uppers know they need to take care of the beat officer. Very few of you are respected for who you are-a piece of metal or cloth on your sleeve ain't doing it although you think that is all that is requied to actually manage and lead people. Stop being part of the problem. For crying out loud, you took a lousy test to get promoted. How does that make you qualified to tell anyone what to do. (Hard working officers with 8+ years or former military commanders not included). And once, you too were "King of Dixie" or the "West End" so stop with the pompious better-than-thou attitude. That being said, I agree that the comparative issues our officers have do nothing but keep us divided. WE ALL, officers to the Majors (another example of alot of sell-outs) should stand together and make OUR department better. Unfortunately now it's all about how much money I can make to pad my high three. Hopefully when the administration changes, we can all get back to doing what we signed up for. Good luck to Edelen and to the Chief.
