Extra Vacation Pay, Other Payments To Mayor's Staff Questioned By Metro Council

I hear this issue come up every year from the command staff and Human Resources. I dont know what world county government is living in where they can say there has not ever been an issue like this before.

What are we told people?

"USE IT OR LOSE IT" -- "If you are close to maxing out on your accrual limits take time off or too bad" If you are not allowed time off you shouldnt have let your accruals get so high.

Why didnt Driscoll and Johnstone know what everyone else in county govt. knows; especially since they are so smart & we cant live without them?

I know a few that concur with my philosophy. I will never let my vacation accrual get above more than 10 days because I can't stand this place. I will stay home any chance I get. This job pays my bills and I got nothin else to do. Thats all it is anymore. If I die tomorrow, all the county will do is fight with my widow on whether they owe her the 10 days or less I have saved on the books. They will slimeball her out of something Im sure. They will never get anything out of me.

The rest of you better wake up and jump on board.

Why you gotta bash the 8th? They have thier issues also, They regularly work with as little as 5 and 6 officers on midwatch, and I know for a fact a friend could not get V-time to go with his family on a Florida trip.

The point to my response for the original poster, was the comment to the 8th Div. officers. It was complete disrespect, and completely out of line. What was the point of belittling someone.
