I see that this person has never been a victim of a crime or needed assistance from an emergency service. I absolutely agree with closed roads police escorts when a member of an emergency service is injured. They put their lives on the line on a daily basis - for crappy money - and I for one, appreciate it. And if you will recall, they also gave Erica Hughes an escort to the hospital - so it is not a one way street. I am so sick of everyone ragging on the police all the time. If you think that you can do a better job, APPLY. Please LMPD - Don't let it get you down, there are citizens out here who appreciate everthing that you do and understand the obstacles that are in your way. There aren't enough Officers on the streets at any one given time, to allow them to drive their cruisers at a snails pace to get to each and every call. I have a suggestion to all of you people who are complaining about the police speeding - find out how many Officers are on duty in your Division - to protect you at any given time - and don't be surprised when the number is low...and ask yourself, do you want that Officer to be on a Sunday drive when you call for help??? I don't - I want them to come as fast as they can - and I don't have any "cops" or "paramedics" in my family either.
