Very simple solution. Leave it at your division. If no secure area is provided after asking your CO for one than simply inform them you are leaving it on the roll call table as you are not compensated for protecting it while off duty. If they don't like that then turn it all in and they can re issue it daily, while you are on duty and on the clock of course.
