In many jobs, just getting arrested would mean you get fired. I don't have a problem with paid admin leave, as long as the city would do the exact same thing for a civilian employee in the same situation.

He SHOULD, however, be stripped of powers, badge, car, etc. No off-duty, of course. As for doing admin work around the department, isn't that all he does anyway?

After all, the city has fired a cop for an offense for which he was later completely exonerated, that was far less than what this guy is accused of doing. But did they offer him his job back ... no ..... (Think 1998/1999)

Retarded logic, what a stupid insult, but what else have I come to expect from some of you. For your information, we actually DO lose our license for two moving violations within a one year period.

DUI and you can kiss finding a driving job goodbye for 5 years. At least with a reputable company that wont try to pay you $9 per hour. I guess in your own version of "retarded logic" someone in my profession going on unemployment because of getting fired and making about half or less of what you made while working is similar to your continuing to draw a complete paycheck while you are investigated.

Due process involves NOTHING pertaining to continuing to draw a check while you are suspended due to your own actions. With the way that you all protect your own, even other jurisdictions, the fact that the cop managed to get arrested and charged in Florida pretty clearly demonstrates they are sure he did it and he got no leniency whatsoever.using the cop off Taylorsville road I think within the past couple of years that took his wife hostage and threatened to kill himself, he was also placed on administrative leave. I guess in your mind that even though you all were there and the situation is undeniable as to what happened, hes not guilty enough to merit being fired for being a danger and mentally unstable huh?

Once again, here you are trying desperately to draw a different set of guidelines for you than applies to the citizenry of the community. You should continue to draw tax dollars in the form of a salary, but the average everyday citizen does not receive such a benefit.

Not once did I say anything about you losing your car home and sleeping on the streets, but there isnt anything keeping you from working a temporary job to pay the bills while your future is debated in the courts. I guess you dont know about the millions of people, me included, that have taken menial jobs not in our career path, to stave off the bill collectors.

it speaks volumes that you would expect to be homeless if such a fate should be fall you, that you dont even consider the responsible action of getting a temporary job to help support your family. You have obviously been catered to, for far too long, and lack the integrity and intelligence needed to provide for your family if put in the situation where you might have to actually do something for yourself.
