I can only hope that you are speaking about the politics of JCPS and not the teachers.I am bound by my profession to encourage,enrich,and educate to the best of my abilities each day.I am proud of my students,as well as my colleagues. We are unfortunatley however,as upset as you are about the policies of JCPS.They are still using race, it is just structured in another way on the application process.We are still asking kindergarteners, as well as first graders to ride a bus to a school no where near their home, go to a depot, and wait to catch another bus to a school that was chosen for them. We still have buses which are not full with children, costing valuable time and money.ect.ect.I am a parent as well as a educator,and as nice as it would be for me to send my child to a private school I can not afford it, so I am working with my colleagues to make it better. Trust me we are in the trenches to, you havent lived untill you have been given attitude, by a 5 year old, but, on the other hand you havent lived untill that 5 year old finally understands what you have been trying all year to get them to learn, and it finally clicks. NO BETTER FEELING in this world.We are in this toghether, so continue to push for our children, and our teachers,we all deserve better.A somewhat battered educator,but far from broken.
