I'm not going to attack you, and I do comprehend what you are saying, but I am going to contradict you. You say you don't want to be attacked but it sounds to me like you want to be disagreeable just for the sake of it. I say that because I've seen no post on this thread referring to this EMT as a "hero". I did see someone refer to him as "protector", "guardian", and "defender", which in my opinion all accurately describe an EMT/paramedic. Just because he became victmized by a crime doesn't mean those 3 adjectives don't still accurately describe what his daily job is.

I'm confused as to why people want to constantly debate about this "hero" term. I think soldiers who fight for our country are heroes, even if they die in their sleep or get killed in car accidents after they've retired or are victims of crimes when they return. I think firemen are heroes even if their houses get broken into. And I think EMTs are heroes even if they get stabbed prepping for a shift. I consider anyone who protects the safety of citizens lives and property to be a hero, and I think it's sad that the only thing you could think to say here was that he's not a hero because he became the victim of another senseless crime. Your reasoning in your post is what confuses me, not the actual clarity of it. He is an "everyday hero" because of his job, not because of the attack. I don't think anyone here even implied that. But I'm not going to argue semantics.

Why do we continue to engage "trucker" in this pointless banter. Trucker, at no point was the EMS worker ever refered to as a "HERO". A simple prayer for the paramedic and his family and a speedy recovery on your part would surfice.

There is a history of arguments from you sighting studies and points of view. A study is simply a gathering of information and numbers that are palced into a matrix based on parameters and protocols. With that, anyone of us can prove our points on any topic based on the way we present it. No study is ever commissioned without knowing the outcome to some degree, after all who wants the study completed and for what reason.

Just maybe, to some of us there are different ideas of the word "HERO" , in this case this paramedic is going to go home alive after experiencing a horrific assault. God bless him and his family.

You seem to have the personality of a politician. It is very clear by your postings that you have all of the right answers for every situation concerning public policy. I invite you to run for mayor and place all of your arguments into the public forum. Please run for mayor and fix all of the problems within the city of Louisville. Please run for mayor and fix the police, fire and ems depts. Please run for mayor and put an end once for all to the arguments you post here. The city needs a great leader, we need someone with wisdom, foresight and vision. Please run for mayor so all of us in public service can be corrected for our thoughts and opinons. After all you cannot do any worse than mayor abramson.

Short of that just say thank you when you need any of us, whether it be fire, police and ems. But for gosh sakes keep the injured paramedic in your prayers.

Once aagain we hear from the douchebag that has nothing better to do but post his moronic views about emergenncy workers. Shift gears and drive your truck to a different website. You apparently are too dense to catch on that nobody wants to listen to your juvenile tripe.
