WTF? THEY'RE STABBING OUR MEDICS NOW? U ALL B CAREFULL OUT THERE AND THANK YOU FOR SAVING LIVES EVERYDAY AND RISKING YOUR NECKS OUT THERE WITH ALL THE HEEBEE JEEBEEZ PEOPLE HAVE NOWADAYS YOU ARE MY HEROS AND TRUCKER U CAN'T TAKE THAT FROM ME!!!!

I agree, we are crap in the eyes of many and it is so sad that someone such as the mayor would not hesitate to call us to come save his mother, wife or kids and then crap on us labeling us as non-essential. It is a shame that we do not get the respect as other organizations do. Wether it is driving emergency down the city streets, trying to save a life on a street in a not so safe neighborhood, dealing with the crackhead that called EMS because he feels his heart is racing and hates everyone, including you as you are trying to help him, or working an MVC in the middle of racing traffic on the highway; we are in harms way and encounter danger on a daily basis.

Why the government and our local leaders do not see or understand this is a shame. Who will come save their assess when some unfortunate event were to happen to them, WE WILL....Why because it is what we do and love. Even though they say we are non essential and continuously cut our numbers. I am not saying we should all of a sudden be placed on a pedestal, all I am saying is it would be nice to be given the same respect as Fire and Police. They are our brothers and sisters in EMS and we all work for the same goals.

Anyway, that is my rant and I feel better now. As for the mayor, shame on you! The respect for EMS workers in this city and the surrounding areas (Southern Indiana) begins with you. If you start showing respect to the EMS workers (EMT's and Paramedics) then it will filter down to the legislators and the surrounding communities. Just a thank you and a little recognition now and then goes a long way.

Yes, lets thank the cops for once again illustrating how pathetic they are, how arrogantly they decide to show they think they are more important than everyone else in society. let us praise them for the way they chose NOT to escort the children to the hospital from the accident out Dixie Highway, you remember the one where some of the children ended up dying. But we understand, they couldnt escort the children, after all, SOMEone had to wait and see if a fellow cop MIGHT need roads closed for what is labeled a NON-life threatening injury once again. You should be ashamed to wear your badges.

I completely understand your seniments. And, I am sorry that again one of us has been injured trying to keep society from completely imploding. Always be careful out there and protect each other...All we have is each other anyway.

However,

Keep OL' BOBBLEHEAD away from me. I would be ******** if I found out my platoon, Sgt., or family let the goon in to "see me" in an effort to seem caring. This career politician is anything but caring as is dictated by his continous lack of commitment to negotiations, contracts, or fairness. I for one never care to see the "boy mayor" (words not mine but more socially acceptable than the ones I was thinking)...at Walmart, the hospital for me or anyone else, or even at a public servant funeral. He doesn't respect what any of us do, and he certainly isn't worthy of being in our presence during times of trouble.

As is evidenced by recent events, we won't matter until we work for Cordish, so why would we want him to "visit" anyway.

Continue to professionally do those jobs we swore to do for the public. We do NOT work for the mayor or the chief. Protect each other and STAY SAFE.
