And for the NO SHOW MAYOR......I forgot, we are non essential employees. That's right, I'm putting it out there, The mayor never showed up. Thanks for absolutely NOTHING!

Just another stray dog that we as society have tolerated for way too long. People, some of these trolls are dangerous. They have a tenuous grip on reality. They have mental problems and are usually on drugs or alcohol. In the highlands they feed them and give them handouts.

Now we have one that approaches one of our EMS people at the firehouse, asks for some money and when he is told "no" he stabs him. Yes they smell. Yes they usually get cut loose with a slap on the wrist, but all the trolls are going to the book from here on out. I think we should work on a displacement campaign. Tell them flat out: "If you don't like it....LEAVE"

To our brother in EMS..... Get well soon and don't think twice about how the mayor feels. He would get rid of all of us (LMPD, FIRE and EMS) as he has shown how he feels for us in the past. I noticed he (the mayor) didn't comment on the situation on the news but the head of EMS did. I don't know much about the doctor but he does not appear to be much in support of anyone. I found his statements about the medic to be without feeling and between his hesitation and rocking back and forth when talking on the news I would have thought he had been drinking (just an observation not a fact). What kind of people are in charge of the agencies we are working for if this is the best jerry can find?

My heart dropped when I heard this had happened to you all. We all love you and want to just remind you to be strong, and we are ALWAYS here for you. I know he will make it through this, and I actually feel sorry for whats going to happen to the guy that did this once he gets caught. He should have thought twice about who he was messing with!! Again, we love you guys and let any of us know if you need anything!

Thank you to all LMEMS employees as well as EMTs/Paramedics on local fire departments for what you do for this city every single day. My father is included in this group. I know the sacrifices you and your families make to do what you do. My thoughts and prayers are with the family and I'm SO grateful he is going to be ok.

maybe Im missing something here, but that is a textbook definition of a victim of a crime, not a hero. Keeping in mind that that comment takes NOTHING away from the individual who was stabbed, and is not to say that person wouldnt be a hero if circumstances called uponto be one, but there simply wasnt anything heroic about being criminally attacked and victimized.

Im sure some of you who are less than capable of comprehending what I wrote will attack me for "slandering" this young man, but youre wrong if you do.

JChris... I am not sure of all that has been thrown around over the past several days, however I have to ask the following:

1. When is there a time that we (the police) don't escort the "wagons" on a room 9 (possibly life threatening) run?

2. Until the EMT/Paramedic arrived at the hospital NOBODY knew it wasn't going to be life threatening. I was off duty and made the scene when they dropped the 10-30 (officer in distress) for EMS... I spent the next hour and 45 minutes of my time walking the neighborhood looking for the scrote (again OFFDUTY) who assaulted a EMT/Paramedic for no apparenet reason. In fact it was probably good that I wasn't able to find the scrote, as I was as mad as I have ever been (it actually reminded me of looking for the morons who had tried to kill my soldiers). One of the plainclothes sergeants in the division actually made me relax for a minute.

3. I understand that others don't get you on and off attack banter... nor do they understand that you will hide valid points amid what appear to be character attacks. I have learned to READ you post in efforts to try to find the substance. In fact I agree with many of the arguments you make. If my brethren have "outed" you, then I am sorry for the inconvenience, but they are investigators... it is what we do by nature.

I am an old retired JCPD c.o. who likes to visit this site to keep abreast of what's going on with the men and women of Metro. I think that everyone who puts that uniform every day and goes to work is a HERO--not because of what they do every day but because of what they might have to do on any given day . I think that its time to put a stop to this idiot who posts all that crap that serves no other purpose than to insult and degrade every police officer who serves here. I dont exactly have a feel for what his problem is but he definitely has some serious issues regarding the police and he apparently gets some perverse enjoyment from the silly stuff that he posts. I think its time to convince him to leave us alone here and go someplace where he might be wanted or appreciated. He has to be made to realize that his words have consequences. I would like anyone who has any info about this ********--name, address, phone #, etc.--to send me the info at : jchris_crusher at yahoo.com. I believe I might be able to help him see the light.

To all EMS brothers and sisters you have the full support from your brothers and sisters in the law enforcement community. I am thankful that he was not gravely wounded and will recover. You all are a truely gifted lot and sould be thanked by everyone everyday, you save lives and make a real impact on the community. Stay strong and well see ya on that next run.

TO EVERYONE READING THESE POSTS: THOSE WHO WRITE POSTS TO TRY AND IGNITE SOME SORT OF ONE SIDED DEBATE... I SAY IGNORE THEM, STOP REPLYING TO THEM, STOP EGGING THEM ON, STOP FEEDING INTO THEIR NEED FOR ATTENTION. Those of us who truely do care about each other (police, fire ems) will write in support of each other and not try and start a debate over someone who was involved in an uninstigated assault. Keep each other safe.
