You talk about being a professional, then I will say that you are a professional in your career of choice. Every profession has risks, some greater than others, but to come onto a site that is for support of a profession and belittle that profession so that you seem to be a better person is wrong. I will give you your recognition that your job is dangerous just as is mine and everyone who puts on any type of uniform or the little paperboy delivering the paper. You see its not about whos better or more tough or who does more its about living your life to the best of your ability and treating others as you would want to be treated. Sometimes it takes something in your life to happen to give you the bigger perspective, for you it sounds like that has not happened even given those instances you talked about earlier. One day you will need a officer, emt, firefighter, doctor or nurse to save you and they will do so to the best of their ability as will we need your services of transporting goods across the country to assist those persons mentioned. Every profession is somehow interlinked (like six degrees to bacon) and in someway or another relies on the other. The difference is that those who swear to uphold the law and protect and serve society is, we deal with life and death issues on a daily basis. How often do you go to deliver a load and think about someone behind that door might have a gun and want to kill you or fight you or hurt someone inside, I would say except for the bad areas you deliver in, not often. Every profession has bad seeds and singling one profession as being more corrupt than another is wrong. Bickering over who is better or worse is a waist of time and energy, and should be used on more important things like how to solve those problems so others won't have to. Im sure you're not going to drive a truck the rest of your life, at some point you'll want to retire and give the keys to a new "trucker", so why not try leaving your profession a little better off that you found it. Start making positive choices and resist the urge to belittle those around you to make yourself feel better. You'll be enlightened at how it can change your whole outlook and life.

I guess what I'm saying is that unless you have positive things to say to or about people please refrain from saying them on this site.

Stay strong, support each other, and be professional. Remember there is a chance that some small impressionable person may see what you are doing and say " I really want to be a....when I grow up", so the choices you make should always be positive ones. When you go home you should be able to say to yourself, I made the best choices I could and I am comfortable in the actions I took. Karma will come full circle.

To my fellow officers continue to fight and try to take the streets back in our city, continue to do your job professionally and lockup as many POS as possible. This administration will change and hopefully so will the way we can police. Stay safe and ignore the negative that is posted here, focus on making positive changes in the city starting with this forum for us.
