I am a cop and I agree with The new thread poster, there are officers on this web site, and we do not admit guilt or lose the battle or whatever else the individual you are conversing with states when we don't respond. This person has been proven wrong on many occasions, he has been called names some of them childish, some quite creative, and yes some vulgar. The thing is some officers on this site have tried to take this person seriously, they have called him, emailed him form their personal email, etc. this person is very hard to correspond with...not because he's right or he's intellectually superior, but because when this persons "facts" are exposed for what they really are...which are assumptions, He snaps and goes on one of his I'm always right you are corrupt rampages. So many of us just choose to ignore him or just mess with him, it doesn't prove anyting except we grow tired of the ramblings, we didn't get this job to drive fast and embezzle money, or whatever accusations he has, no one here wants his name to seek revenge. Maybe to sue him for slander or defamation of character but that would be it. We did get this job to make a difference in someone's life a good difference. We never said our job is the most dangerous job but it is dangerous. Statistcally many jobs are more dangerous but our job has the potential to go bad quickly and the thing we try to explain is we face the dangers that other occupations face normal ones like traffic accidents or bad weather, heart attacks etc. but we also face the other dangers like standing on the side of the road when a drunk comes by or dealing with a subject high on crack, etc. we don't hold a monopoly on danger. We pray for all people who face danger. especially Firemen, ems, corrections, MILITARY, the gas station attendants god knows they got it bad. The thing is when you deal with the kinds of Krap we deal with daily or nightly we need a place to pump ourselves up or pat ourselves on the back because moral is low. We don't usualy get a warm reception when we answer a call. We need to blow off steam just like anyone else. We have feelings just like anyone else, BUT we also have thicker skin because of the Krap we deal with. Sometimes a hey thanks, is all we need, When you watch/read the news see if they put a good story about police on the front, no we get bashed as a whole we get lumped in as a whole. Bad things happen in every line of work but not all bad things end up as the headline. When my occupation screws up you know you'll hear about it and ALL cops will be in the limelight. Any how That is my side of the story now I'll go back into "HIDING"
