I continue because the issues I bring to the table are not any closer to being resolved. The reason I will continue to pursue the behavior, is that in spite of your personal opinion of me, the issue is still valid, and if you can see it beyond how you see me, then others will as well.

I simply have nothing to lose here, save for the physical threats and promises to ruin my life, while they lose more of their public image because of what they allow to happen in their name. ONE person besides me took issue with the statement about using "trees and ropes" to curtail gang behavior in the west end. Thats a pretty radically prejudiced comment, and it speaks volumes that so few people took issue with it, in another thread.

William Patterson and I had a very civil conversation weeks ago, and as I said, we agreed to disagree, he did admit that the department is plagued by some bad behavior, but no solution is presented to correct it.That is unacceptable from LMPD as a whole, not to indict Officer Patterson. Acknowledgement does nothing to change a pattern of problems.

Take trucking for example, accident rates are far down, radically so in comparison to the increase in truck traffic in the past 20, 40 years. However, IF that accident rate had declined and truckers still used drugs in the fashion they did back then, would that make a complaint of drugs in trucking any less valid?Would anyone take comfort if I said "Yeah drugs are still rampant in trucking, but we have fewer accidents as a whole, so who cares?" I wouldnt, and I AM a trucker.

Therein lies the basis of my point. Acceptance of a problem is not a stand alone solution, correction is the ONLY viable response.
