Abramson strikes out!

To be honest the deployments weren't helping with the family...

The current politics of this agency have made me entirely disgusted to be here... I love my job. I love the men and women I serve with. Hell I love to serve the community... I just hate the politics of it all. It is so inane and shows such a level of bumbling incompetance on all sides.

This mayor (in my opinion) is about as openly corrupt as any official can be, yet seems to slide. The PUBLIC information on him so damning, yet no one in the public cares. The media could care less. The fed's don't seem to give a rats ********. Our PIU has been shut down on several investigations (so I have been told) that would have been damning to him.

To make it worse, the membership of my FOP seems to be so hell bent on going around the elected the leadership that they are cutting their noses to spite their face... If the FOP's members would quit whining about the cars and FOCUS on the failure of the Mayor to negotiate financial issues with the "union" then the public fight would be better served. I gave my "assigned" car up... and guess what I don't stop for anyone unless I want to... When I am off, I am off, unless I CHOOSE to respond... And there is nothing the command can do about it anymore. That being said, I have responded when it was appropriate, and then I clobbered them with the OT slip. In fact I can honestly say I have had more OT because of this issue than I have ever had in my career (on month to month average)...

My only hope is that the FOP takes the mayor's magic number of $8000 which he placed on the value of the car to the officer into account when we demand that money in lieu of a car... Hell I would stay longer just to get a better high three.
