RE: Abramson strikes out!
"Meanwhile, cops still refuse to be held accountable for their actions...what hypocrisy"
Uh, what? What are you prattling about? The police in this city, (and the VAST majority nationwide) are held to a MUCH higher standard of accountability for their actions than ANY private citizen, or for that matter any other governmental employee.
We (police) do not make enough money to just make things go away, or to pay people to have "selective memories."
Almost every cell phone in the city takes pictures now, so we have the added pleasure of anyone who wants to second guessing our every move and decision days or weeks later, in the leisure and comfort of their own home.
Every police officer in this city faces double jeopardy (in fact, if not in name) everytime he or she is formally accused of anything. What many people do not know (or care, probably) is that when a police officer is accused of something, there are TWO investigations.
The first is to determine if the officer in question has done anything criminal . This is where it would end for all you fine citizens; guilt or innoncence, period, done. The Police Officer, however gets a second investigation, free of charge.
After the criminal investigation is completed (regardless of the outcome) there is a second investigation to see if the officer broke any department policies. While he or she cannot be jailed for breaking department policies, the mayor and his good friend, the chief, can still do LOTS of less than plesant things to an Officer found guilty of breaking department policies; up to and including firing. In this economy, firing a police officer (literally guranteeing he or she will be unable to find more work in his or her chosen career field) strikes me as pretty severe punishment.
Last, the mayor is DAMN sure not looking out for us, and trying to protect us when we make mistakes; when the Mayor thinks of cops all he sees is a big hole where money goes he could be sending to the cornish company.

When and if I, in my official capacity as a SWORN police officer, violate the KRS or the Constitution of the Commonwealth of
Kentucky or that of the
United States of America, PLEASE FEEL FREE to hold me accountable...
I understand you must have a distrust of police officers? maybe its earned, maybe it perceived, then again maybe you are just a troll under the bridge looking for a bite.
Regardless I will continue to police aggressively to keep OUR streets safe so as to allow you the privilege to sleep at ease each night. Good luck with that double clutch, I hear they are a bit** to drive.
Good Luck and God Bless
