out-frickin-standing. another good one would have been - "COPS/EMS/FIRE TAKE CARE OF LOUISVILLE- JERRY ONLY LOVES JERRY" (ok I concede, Jerry loves ill-gotten money as well.) The truth flying overhead would shame a decent man into doing what is right. Therefore I believe nothing will change for the better.

I have said it time and time again. Abramson needs to be humiliated publicly. We are not going to touch him at the polls unless the voters of Jefferson County have it thrust into their face. Great job John! This needed to be done.

Money fookin' well spent.

Great stategy! Mayor Abramson spares no expense when it comes to high-profile projects but quality of life issues and safety aren't on his agenda.

Yea I bet he wasn't surprised. That is a bunch of bull, I bet he was fuming so bad he went home and bet the crap out of his pillow, a typical jerry tantrum.

I have been told by my platoon sargeant that when our wonderful mayor was driven down Broadway Ave, in the convertible corvette he was riding in, during the Pegasus Parade that all of the spectators at my sargeants post were booing him. If this is indeed true, I believe that alot of people are beginning to see Jerry who he really is. DOWN WITH JERRY! I think it is all beginning to blow up in his face.

I happen to think that the heat should be turned up. We voted months ago to hire someone to make some noise (professionally) and haven't seen anything yet. I understand though that we had some billboards lined up but that the company refused to put up any of our slogans which were all in good taste. Friends of the Big Giant Head no doubt.

Not sure if it is still up or not, but Marker's Mark had a billboard up as you left downtown on I-64E. It read "Never Changes, Kinda Like the Mayor". I would like to thank Maker's Mark for their support! Proud to have the billboard in my division.

PETER GRIGNON WAY!!!!!!

May 7th, 2009 @ 1:05AM (15 years ago)

I have not been by the road lately named after Peter Grignon, but if I remember correctly its a normal green street sign. If I am correct, then I am disgusted by the way the city, Metro council and WHAS celebrated with "CHUCK OLMSTED WAY", Councilman David Tandy got on TV and said this is the only sign like if in Louisville. For gosh sakes he was a TV reporter (a great one, yes and super nice guy). Peter gave his life for this city and the "city sign shop" and Tax payers give a news reporter a better sign and street named for than a Police Officer MURDERED in the live of duty. I am going to ride by Peter Grignon way tomorrow and if I am right I am firing off letters to the Mayor, Metro Council, WHAS and any one that will listen.

Thanks for a slap in the face to a murdered police officer COUNCILMAN TANDY!

Let me first start off by saying, it's about time!! Since our strong message of unity that first FOP meeting I figured we had started to back down. I have come to the realization that most officers are going to keep their cars, this like someone earlier is a preference of choice but I will say that if there is any less than 50% participation then those whom turn in their cars it is done in vein. The public MUST see a HUGE turn out to make a lasting impression. I will be the first to turn in my car if we have a concrete number, I like others are fed up with this administration and what they have done and continue to do to us, but giving them more is not the answer. Right now the public is seeing the Mayor for what he is doing and has done, we need to use this to our advantage and start an aggressive media blitz. Let me say that we all know why they didnt come out with the decisions on the cars before derby.....WE LOST ...we all (hopefully) would have turned them in and been released from the chains of oppression.. Lets hope we won, but be prepared for ALL to turn in our cars and stick together, otherwise its not going to benefit anyone....100 cars means little.......400-500 cars makes a HUGE statement.

One more thing....election we need a strong candidate and one that could preach the message of change, show the public that a new face of open government and no backdoor dealing will prevail. Public Safety should be #1,

Slogan," Lets take back this city from the thugs on the streets to the thugs in city hall"

Stick together brothers and sisters

backbone

May 8th, 2009 @ 7:53AM (15 years ago)

I stuck together and paid the ridiculous 100 bucks a month for a car I don't drive off duty for the last few months. I don't give a flying flip if I am the only one to turn in my car if we lost the just as ridiculously long decision. It is getting turned in. I will not be hauling my riot gear, gas mask, personally owned jumper cables, rifle, shotgun, radar, etc... back and forth either; court rulings and OSHA say I don't have to. Jerry better start using his Cordish, I mean NoBama stimulus cash to build some freakin storage at the divisions quickly. I will not be threatened with tantrums and I will not fill Jerrys dirty pockets. Either join me - or don't whine ever again about having to pay higher and higher rates to drive a car that causes you to work for free and makes you a rolling target while you are off duty. PERIOD. Now is the time, and this is the place. Make a stand together, or fall as individuals. I choose to stand.

I am curious to know how many of those making complaints post-merger or pre-merger. Those of you that are post-merger who are hating your jobs 2-5yrs into it are going to have a VERY long career. The administration's that come in and go out are always going to promise you something and take something away, sure this admistration ******** a pumpkin thru a waterhose, but it could be alot worse. The only comfort that we have is knowing we stand united it tough times, and it's gonna get a lot worse before it gets better. We are the strongest force in this city when we stand together, and together we must. Let them try and make your life miserable, but dont..this is a great career and alot of fun, but if you let those who are disgruntled get into your thoughts then your career will be a very long one. Think long term and with your hearts and not emotion, these battles were having with the mayor and his cronies are no different from those we battle everyday on the streets.

I guess my point is do your best at loving your job those 8or 10 hours you work everday or youll hurt yourself and everyone around you, and let whats gonna happen ...happen because there is little to change it. TURN in your Cars when asked to and for EVERONES sake STICK TOGETHER no more my division is better , Im a real cop cause I work here...we all get payed the same, all are in the same fights, all dislike what they are doing to us.. so lets come together as one...as an officer said one, " you cant stop the big blue wave"

HEROS

May 12th, 2009 @ 4:36PM (15 years ago)

A Cop is someone who, at some point in our life, wrote a blank check made payable to 'The City we work in' for an amount of 'up to and including our life.'

That is Honor, and there are way too many people in this country who don't understand it.'

Velcro

hero

May 13th, 2009 @ 4:07PM (15 years ago)

hero came to refer to characters (fictional or historical) that, in the face of danger and adversity or from a position of weakness, display courage and the will for self sacrifice ? that is, heroism ? for some greater good.

so we are heros! and to some point a trucker could be one as well if he gives his life or the possibility of giving his life in the face of danger. As he cleary did in the assisting of officers in the car chase. I'm not sure what all the animosity is about? I do enjoy reading the truckers posts and in return messing with him, but I am only doing it in fun. Can't we all just get along. don't taze me bro
