I actually received the following response to my email: I agree its a dirty deal to do in the middle of your contract. Our area has the lowest crime rate in the city and part of the reason is so many police officers live out here and drive their cars home. A police car in a driveway is a deterrent to criminals. I hope most officers keep their vehicles. Ultimately it is in the Mayors power to do this. I don't like it but their is no way for the Council to stop it through legal means. You all have
