Man, why do you have to dump on them and ruin a touching story? Can't you just say they did a good thing and leave it at that?

Small justification for their existence. Are you kidding me. How about the large amount of drugs the K9 unit finds every year and the several felony suspects they apprehend every year. Not to mention the hundreds of times they help us out by making runs for us when we are backed up and short. Or the hundreds of time they back us up on traffic stops. And lets also remember those K9 dogs make us the officers safer by going into areas to apprehend felony suspects so we dont have too. Your comment was totally un called for.
