Judge rules in FOP's favor. City cannot charge more for cars.

Today, I walked into a bank to make a deposit. A lady in line says......are you with the police dept? I said Yes I am! She said she thought it was wrong that the Mayor was messing with us with the cars and she hoped things would soon work out on our behalf. This was a teacher with a Masters degree. She said that we put our lives on the line everyday and we deserve to have the cars at no charge. I explained to her the fact that we haven't had a cost of living raise since the merger and that when we do get a raise it is small and then we just give it back paying for our insurance or for the cars! Let me just say, I was off duty/plain clothes and well aware of my surroundings but ready to act if need be (possible robbery) and it was obvious to her that I was an officer and in an unmarked car to boot! Thanks to the public that understands! FOP........People need to be educated.......she said that alot of people she talks to, think we make more money then we do.........lets start educating them.........I am waiting!
