YES IT IS. It's a violation of state/federal wage and hour laws. If you work more than 40 hours in a week, they must pay you OT. The Court pay issue was negotiated separately, and to save them from having to pay OT or calculate precisely when you arrive and leave court, and that's OK, but everything else ... The policy says you MUST stop, so STOP, call it in, call off, and they put in for OT. Keep very, very careful track of everything, and then file a complaint with wage and hour. It must be coordinated, get together with 5 or more other officers, and do it all at the same time. There IS safety in numbers. Let the FOP know you are doing it, they should have information on every officer who does it, to coordinate and make sure that the matter is handled consistently.

yep- our Sgts told us that they would not put any overtime into PAM for ANYTHING done off duty.
