Actually, that story really ticked off a BUNCH of people - the voting public. It was ignorant - it showed that the reporter slept through Sociology class. Cops don't LIVE in bad areas in the first place, particularly if they have families, they choose to live in good areas. (And as one person commented to me - cops can AFFORD to live in Prospect?) It is confusing correlation with causation. Those places don't have low crime rates because of the cars, the cars are there because they already HAVE low crime rates. If I live in one of the zips with few to no cars - think - how does this information make ME feel?
Better to show how the cars moving around the city are a benefit.
