Outstanding work with NO HELICOPTER
WOW! what a true act of bravery from the fine men and women of LMPD! Mayor Abramson and Chief White should be ashamed, because of budget cuts, they put so many officers and their family?s lives into jeopardy by not providing aerial support! God bless the officers involved, maybe we will get a helicopter for Christmas! Unbelievable!

I'm sorry someone died and I am sorry that 6 officers had to take that life. This man chose his fate. His co-def. chose to give up and he is safely at the jail. Mr Sneed chose to rob Wendy's, run, steal a police car and run some more and then made the decision to exit the car with a gun. He could have thrown the gun down at any point and not got shot. I have seen people that knew Mr Sneed say the cops were wrong and they were so far away they could not see that he was giving up. My question to those who are shocked by this...where exactly were you? Maybe if you gave him more support he would not have been involved in this tragedy. I know one place you were not at and that was in the Ohio when Mr Sneed pulled that gun out. I am tired of some people in the public arm chair QBing an incident when their family is involved. Don;t think your loved one was not capable of doing the horrible thingd the police tell you that he did. Also...those 6 officers did not wake up yesterday and say "I think I might go get in a chase and kill me a robber". Listen to the audio (available on this web sight) it does not sound like the officers calling this incident enjoyed any part of it.
Good job...the community may be safer because of all your actions. I am again sorry for ALL involved but one person ultimately decided how this incident was going to play out.

This goes to prove that NOT EVERYONE CAN DRIVE A POLICE CAR. To those involved, great job on this. Keep your heads up and take your time on coming back. Make sure YOU are ready to hit the streets again.
An Eventful 2008 Holiday Season
Wow, that didnt sound like I expected it to. I guess it really is different than tv. I listened to the other policeman's radio transmissions as well on the arcade and was shocked. (The one where you can hear the officer getting shot at was really disturbing.).
I sincerely appreciate the job you all do and God Bless.

This guy was going to get a GED and become a surgeon at Jewish hospital. The media will make him out to be another victim of LMPD and he was just getting ready to turn his life around. YEAH RIGHT! This thug got just what he deserved, if you want to be a gun carrying robbber be prepared to pay the price. You pull a gun on a cop you probably won't see the next day. Most of them have one too. Be safe have a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year.

First and foremost to those involved, you did everything right...HE made the decision to not comply and for that you did what guaranteed you going home and spending Christmas with your families. Do NOT let the comments of others make you feel guilty for the decision he made. I am sorry you and your family having to endure this during the holidays but keep your head high you did what we are expected to do every night..go home at the end of your shift.
Second I am sorry anyone has to lose their loved ones due to stupid decisions they made during moments of fear. I feel for your family during these holidays, but do NOT blame the officers. The decision to flee and commit a crime with a gun was his. Then to confront officers with a gun and not expect them to protect themselves and others was a decision HE made.
Lastly, everyone should realize that the emotional drain from incidents like these on everyone involved is extremely high and can bring anger, hatred and sorrow. What can be best served from emotions like these are to apply them to solving the issue of why people are drawn to commiting crimes that have the potential to end thier lives or lives of others and come together as a community and help the police solve it. If this shows nothing to the Chief of Police but that the crime in this city is becoming more violent. It is apparent that the criminals know that theyc an run from the police, I know when I was younger the police had respect and you knew not to run...that is no longer. Maybe the Mayor should look at how safe this city really is? From this perspective it's not as safe as they portray...the police are doing a great job with the resources the Mayor and the Chief have given them but they need more...More support from the citizens, metro council, the news, and most importantly their own Chief.
I support and love every one of you who put your lives on the line everyday, if not for you I and my family would not be as safe. Thank you for everthing you do for this city.

Great job to everyone involved! I'm glad the goodguys went home. I will tell you what made me sick in my stomach was the Chief's conduct on the scene. His face making and comments, to those around him, implying he didn't believe how someone could steal a police car made me want to throw him off of the scene. I guess he expects everything to go perfect in an unperfect situation. If you all didn't notice he was preparing to leave the scene without even checking on the officers involved until a Lt. Col. had to tell him to do so. Watch each others back because all we have is each other.
An Eventful 2008 Holiday Season
So LMPD doesn't have a helicopter, but it appears they not have a submarine! This brings new meaning to the term pool car. LOL!
All kidding aside, this was absolutely a great job done by our officers. They responded to the initial run wuickly enough to catch the bad guys within a couple of blocks. The situation was dangerous and they continually adapted.
Too bad they had to shoot the creep, not because of him but because of what tthey will have to deal with as they wrestle with this emotionally and psychologically. For those of you that have never had to, and I stress the term HAD TO, take a life in the line of duty or combat, you do not know what these Officers are going through.
Officers do not get ready for work in the morning and say "I hope I get to shoot some scumbag today." On the contrary most of them say just the opposite. "I hope I don't have to use my weapon today, but I am prepared in case I do."
God grant that our men and women in uniform (and without) receive your blessings during their shift and beyond. Please watch over and guide them as they protect our community each day.
"Blessed are the Peacemakers for they shall be called sons of God" Mathew 5:9
Another one bites the dust
They need to charge 180 to the suspects family for off duty use, they charge the hardworking honest making a living cops it, why not just send them a bill for it, cause he wasnt using it honestly. I hope the officer dont get in trouble but I am sure Jerry will make him pay the tow bill to pull it out of the river and cleanup costs associated with it although it wasnt the officers fault... Jerry sold Southfields and sold the Air Unit, whats next all the police cars?? We are proud to have you as mayor Mr Jerry very proud SARCASTICALLY SPEAKING, what a joke to louisville you are.
I just wanted to comment all officers involved with this chase that begun and ended safely to all involved who actually mattered, even though the fool who stole the cop car put countless lives in danger... I am proud to support all the hardworking men and women in Louisville the put the uniform on every day... Sorry you have a idiot of a mayor... May the force be with all of you and Merry Christmas...

GREAT WORK LADIES AND GENTLEMEN
I WOULD LIKE TO PRAISE THE FINE MEN AND WOMEN OF LMPD FOR THEIR DEDICATION, COURAGE, AND SELFLESS SERVICE. I AM VERY PROUD OF MY BROTHERS AND SISTERS IN BLUE. AS SOMEONE WHO WAS INVOLVED IN THIS INCIDENT, MY THOUGHTS AND PRAYERS ARE WITH THOSE SIX OFFICERS WHO DID WHAT THEY HAD TO DO TO ENSURE THEY WOULD RETURN HOME TO THEIR FAMILIES AT THE END OF THEIR SHIFT. IN A WAY I FEEL PARTIALLY RESPONSIBLE FOR THE END RESULT. I AM GRATEFUL ONE OF MY COMRADES IN UNIFORM WAS NOT INJURED OR KILLED AS A RESULT OF THE ACTIONS THIS THUG CHOSE TO TAKE. HE IS THAT, A THUG. A PRODUCT OF OUR WONDERFUL JUDICIAL SYSTEM. THIS THUG SHOULD NOT HAVE BEEN WALKING FREE ON OUR STREETS, PREYING ON PRODUCTIVE MEMBERS OF SOCIETY IN THE FIRST PLACE. THE WORLD IS A BETTER PLACE WITHOUT HIM. WHO KNOWS, THE NEXT TIME HE CHOSE A TARGET ONE OF OUR RELATIVES OR FRIENDS COULD HAVE BEEN ON THE RECEIVING END OF MR. SNEED'S COWARDLY ACTS. GOOD LUCK GOD SPEED TO THE MEN AND WOMEN OF LMPD

As an officer who was involved in the pursuit and aftermath (I wasn't a shooter), two things are clear....WE NEED OUR AIR UNIT BACK!! If we'd had an air unit, it would have been a lot easier trying to keep up with the idiot. Also, we need a unified radio system...dispatch did a fantastic job relaying the information across channels, but for anyone who only had either a city or county radio in their car, it definately put you at a disadvantage. However, great job by everyone involved...the good guys get to go home to their families this Christmas, the bad guys got what was coming to them...

Just in case any of you were wondering or had the slightest thoughts that the highest command (the Chief) has our best interests in mind, allow me to tell you the first comment he made when he entered the restaraunt that so many of us were taking refuge in. Given the time of this incident, there were officers involved from several different divisions and shifts, all of which were greatly appreciated. As the Chief entered the building and sees all of us standing there he states "I guess we have too many officers on first platoon." This comment was made prior to him speaking with any of the six officers involved with the shooting or any of the on scene commanders to get an idea as to the events. After hearing this come from him, it left absolutely zero doubt that his first concern is not for us and our well being. Be safe and watch each others back!

After the fine men and women of LMPD take a scum bag, who committed 56 ARMED Robberies, off the streets, WHAS11 has the audacity to publish this as newsworthy,
"LMPD officers facing disciplinary action after shooting death of suspect"
WHAS11, You do not do this city justice! You should be ashamed of your irresponsible reporting! Maybe next time the officers should let the criminal hurt someone! Your reporting is not even accurate, the officers have been diciplined in the past, not from this incident! As for those who know law enforcement, if you don't get complained on, you're not doing your job!

Police chases
Every time a media outlet says "police chase" in a headline or story, when it is incorrect, we need to ALL start bombarding the editor/producer with calls and emails. For example, they keep calling the incident involving the four boys a chase - which it wasn't - just like the called the deal with Finch a chase - which it wasn't. In both cases, the officers barely had time to get to their vehicles and crank it up before the crash occurred, but they consistently use the term chase.
An Eventful 2008 Holiday Season
To all the officers that were at 841 and Taylorsville on Dec. 23, 2008.
I would just like to say "Thank You". You gals and guys did an outstanding job doing what my partner asked and helping her treat the 3 patients she suddenly had after we had been struck by the SUV. I'm sorry I wasn't able to get all of your names to thank you personally. You are in our hearts and prayers.
Once again Thank you.
