Im not disrespecting you, im disagreeing with you. I see this as the department being angry about losing a perk. Ive talked to other cops, friends in other states, other departments, and the ones without takehome cars cant undestand why you would want them.

That is their opinion. The mere fact that many cities get by without take home cars is either proof that it does or doesnt work. If it doesnt, what do you supposed stops them from investing in them?

im simply trying to point out that the claim that this city will become a more dangerous place is akin to the gun nazis claiming that if we passed carry laws (which I support and have) there would be gunfights in the street. That never happened.

Im sorry if you have been led to believe that the result will be the drastic rise in crime, id like to see the department issue the studies that verify this. Ive been askingfor the study for years to justify takehome cars, and have been simply put off.

Lastly, I do not speak on behalf of all truckers. I think many might disagree with me. For those that would slight all truckers because they do not like what i say is pretty irrational, but thats just my opinion.
