Abramson's lordly ways

So when was the last time you were working and the car you were driving started taking on gunfire?? does the job you work require you to wear a bullet resistant vest, carry a glock handgun, a shotgun, tazer, pepper spray and baton?? the reason more officers are not hurt or killed on the job here or anywhere else is because WE are out there getting the job done right moron!!! We have to use these tools we are given along with the knowledge and skills we are taught to be able to survive all the dangerous encounters we have, and it does require more bravery and courage then you can imagine because those are traits that cannot be taught. We are heroes, along with firemen, EMS, corrections and dispatchers and our jobs are more dangerous and stressful then most.

No Sir I do remember responding to the officer that wrote that stupied comment. I am a officer that feels you have every right to tell your views on this site. As much as i do. I also think you have some good point that you have brought up. I don't agree with everything you have to say and sometimes i feel you go further than making your point . you go to the point of trying to rub things in our faces. But even then i respect what you have to say ( MAY NOT AGREE BUT DO RESPECT )

Heroism is determined by the person, not the clothing ... VERY TRUE being a cop or a fire fighter doesn't make you a automatic hero

but NONE of you are over in a war zone with your lives REALLY on the line. NOT TRUE .. Many of us have been. and some members of our dept. still are

Bottom line is we do care about this city and the people in it. Even with your views towards us if some day you were ever in need of help even if it could cost one of us our lives you would get it and we wouldn't think twice about rushing in to do it.... We do risk our lives with the unknown every night..much more than the public will ever know.. we have police cars with holes in them to prove it. come ride with me on a weekend in the summer and see for yourself.
