The city would NEVER have allowed the cars to become part of the contract.
As I explain to my kids, need and want are two different words. If you NEED to work offduty to pay the bills, you're living outside your means. Given that if you get hurt working offduty you aren't going to get all those benefits that come with getting hurt ON duty, then what? It's gonna happen, sooner or later, to someone.

Your point is understood but we are talking about down the road. It isnt going to stop at 160 dollars. At what point do you think it will be to where it will be to expensive for you. Eventually it will. If you stand up now there is a slim chance that he might be presuaded to look for other means. You are still a police officer without the car.
