If you were speeding, and didn't have lights/siren going, you were in violation of state law. There is no excuse for that. Yes, when you get close, you turn them off, but until then, you RUN HOT. And when they go off, you slow down. The alternative is not worth it. Doing any different makes us no better than other lawbreakers. The policy does not say, speed, but don't turn on lights and siren, for a good reason - it is dangerous and illegal.
