Enough is Enough!

You grasping at straws, and youre angry that the stistics dont reflect what you think they should. Add up all the traffic stops, (though irrelevant), the non emergency calls, AND the 911 calls. Hell, even throw in all the accessory calls, and traffic control calls, and it STILL pales in comparison to the number of people that rely on truck drivers evey day.

WHY?? because not everyone relies on cops every day. I have neve said, (once again) that cops are an unimportant part of society, nor have I implied that their jobs are not difficult, you just arent intelligent enough to understand the words im putting together.

I also never said that MY job was more important than a police officer, see above.

For your information, as a trucker, (we) are often the first on the scene of an accident, just because our lives are spent on the highway where so many accidents occur. I have PERSOANLLY followed a drunk driver from scottsboro, in all the way to brownsboro road, twice putting my truck between the drunk driver and another car to keep the other car from being hit. Why were cops unable to respond for the 45 minutes it took? I dont know. I followed and reported a drunk driver and that young girl was arrested, after veering into the barriers on 64 west. I have pulled a paralyzed woman out of a burning truck.

I dont mention this because I want recognition, i tell you this because you asked. You are so desperate to find reason to support your claim that your being a cop somehow makes you better than me. You wanna be better than me, fine, BE better than me, but be better because you ARE, not because you wear a particular uniform. I am far from the best person/husband/parent out there, but I dont have problems admitting it. Who I am is a direct reflection of ME, not my job. My job is simply what I do to put food on the table and a roof over our heads. It does not make me any more or less of a person. Sometimes it provides me with satisfaction, and sometimes it drives me nuts with frustration.

I pity you, that you can only find reward in WHAT you do for a living, and not HOW you do it. I pity you that you do not have the intellect to understand others opinions, and that you are unintelligent enough not to understand what it is that confuses you.

Most of all, I pity those who have to work with the image that you present for your fellow coworkers, because while some of them believe as you do, that their badge is what makes them as people, many realize they are simply doing the job they chose to do, and must deal daily with the negative images you present on their behalf.
