Hey maybe if you had a set you would understand what we go though that never gets put on the news. I had someone try to pull a gun on me a few weeks ago, and luckily I was able to neutralize the threat before I had to shoot this convict, or get shoot myself. sounds like you would be the one to put down police if they had to use actual lethal force to protect themselves or others. you must think everyone that gets shoot was actually going to be a veterinarian, (After they got there GED). Everything we do and see takes a toll on are mental state and the way we see the world as it is. There are over a thousand Hero's on the department , get it right. And everyone of them have a story that would put your sad attempt, to put them down and take away from these men and woman who were the badged with Honor and integrity. Integrity, if you had any you should take a step back and think about what integrity is. I can write allot of big words and act intelligent like you. But if you have no idea what it takes then I would just shoot my mouth. And about the Federal statistics you mention and about occupational risk, you tell that to my brothers and sisters that Have had there body beating. from all the times we have to fight a Criminal and sustained some sort of injury. So you might have not had to use the Police (yet) remember what you wrote when you are saved by a police officer or another emergency agency.

Here's an idea. The next time you need help (and at some point in your life you will) don't call the police! I don't care whether you have someone breaking into your house or your car breaks down on the highway-don't call the police.

And you know what-since you're into the statistics of police work I'll give you a fact. You're right, most police officers are not killed by guns, they're killed by being struck by a car while doing their jobs, helping people (like you), who are broken down or have a flat tire on the side of the road.

And let me ask you this. How many people sitting in your office or cubicle or behind the Taco Bell counter, or wherever it is that you work, have been killed in the line of duty? Why don't you check out the front page of this website and see how dangerous this job can be.
