This is the type of thinking we need. I hope you are on the FOP Board. If not run for the next opening. Don't forget the mold in the buildings/ old cars/ under staffing and overtime. Hit them for overtime for everything you do.

Brother , I think you are on to something here. I didnt even think about the required equipment in the car and the locker thing. This needs to be brought up to everyone, it s a very good point.

This is an excellent point and needs to be brought out at the meeting on Monday at the FOP. One other point, a lot of the posts on here advise all officers on specialty teams to resign. This needs to be done as well as all FTOs need to resign as well. How can you train a new officer to be a leader in this community when our leadership on this department is a big group of cowards and company men (and women). I know the FTO pay is decent money, but if the administration wants to cripple us by taking economic items away from us we need to do what we can to make their life hell.

Not an expert on OSHA, but ....

Anyone know, does each of the divisions have someone qualified in first aid, who is THERE most of the time? (Officers don't really count, they are in and out.)

Are required to provide adequate PPE for anticipated hazards.

Are required to certify and then recertify annually in hazardous materials - do we do that as the law requires? Do the bomb squad guys get the technician level training they are supposed to have?
