You are living in a freakin dream world. If you think for one second anyone in this community gives a **** about you, then you must be one naive individual. Nobody is saying that anyone get hurt or goes without protection. We're talking about quit lining the mayors budget with tickets ($25.00 per citation to the mayors fund) and arrest which the mayor also gets a fee. Not to mention they lawyers that start crying because they aren't making money as well. Go ahead and be a squirrel and do what you do. Good luck, hope you can retire soon!!!

I agree with you, but the public is going to be harmed one way or another. It just won't be our doing.

If I can't stop a drunk driver, help a stranded motorist, or respond promptly to a run because I DON'T HAVE A DAMN CAR, then that is not a case of me refusing to help the public. Oh yes, the public is probably going to suffer, and it's really unfortunate.

Assuming I actually manage to obtain a working police car at some point during my shift, and maybe a working MDT, then I will continue to help people during my shift. However, you and I both know we won't be getting anywhere near as much work done.

I will always do my job...no matter what. I did not take this job for the pay or the car. If we park them so be it. I dont need the car. I am a police officer first......

See if the citizens come to the rescue when you can't pay a light bill or buy food for your family. Now it's thier turn to protect those that protect them!

I am one that will give up my car because I can't afford to keep giving up more money. I also will just make my runs , but I have not read any comments on a more serious condition then the cars, and that is the hiring freeze, that puts our safety in jepordy. I have read a lot of comments on the publics safety due to parking the cars. My number one concern is to go home at the end of the night be it in a police car or my personal car and then to make sure that everyone that I work with dose the same wether they choose to pay to take home their car or not. The hiring freeze would mean fewer officers on the street to a department that is already short, I have read that making two man runs with one car has to stop and I agree. This issue seems to be putting officer against officer more then anything and that scares me more then not being able to take my car home. I do not agree with everything that everybody is saying, but I gurantee that I will do everything in my power to make sure everyone goes home wether it is in their police car or not. I sure hope this car issue dosen't cause someone to get hurt or killed just someone dosen't back some one up because he or she takes their car home. I took the same job you all did and I will continue to do it to protect the people that need it and more so to make sure that all of you and myself go home to our families.

I hope there is not another FERN CREEK. if you as police or citizen can remeber how many "off duty" officers were at the scene. It sure would be difficult if your only responders were the 6(on a good day) on day work for the 7th div. I pray that kids are not getting killed due to the 2 hour ETA for swat and 25 min for on duty officers.
