Remember the movie "Rudy," where all the players go into the coach's office to hand him their uniforms? Well, we should all go downtown to HQ during rush hour, park our cars in the middle of the streets, walk into the Chief's office, one by one, and hand him the key. Let him deal with 1200+ cars. It's pretty simple. If I'm going to spend 300.00 a month between myelf and my spouse, I'm sure not going to give it to Jerry. I'm going to use it to buy a car that I will later OWN and provide some value to my pocketbook. Don't buy in to this "if you opt out of the take home car program, you can NEVER opt back in." BS! Next Mayor or Chief will take care of that.
