I am not a stranger to the struggles of our police, fire, and EMS when it comes to the budget axe. As a former Police Officer of 11 years, I have seen my fair share of budget cuts and personnel layoffs in a vane attemp to trim the budget. In 1982 I myself became a victim of the budgetary axe when I was given the boot without any notice.
