Mayor orders spending restrictions, including hiring freeze, travel cuts

Are you kidding me? Anyone that would leave the SO to work for Metro Governement would be STUPID!! Our Department is falling apart around us and everybody knows it. You know how?? Because we post all of our dirty laundry on this website for the world to see. And on top of that, half of these new guys we have been hiring just because they have college and its all we have to pick from is a joke. The majority of them I dont even like standing behind me. Sheriff Aubry is a stand up guy that takes care of his troops first. This department would get ANOTHER 20 years out of me if he took over this city. What a STUPID comment for you to have posted. The Sheriffs Office has more power than us and its not a group of guys whos bad side you want to be on!!!!!

Here we go again another hot shot Metro Officer putting down the Sheriff's Office. If you did your homework you would know that statement was not made by a deputy. All street deputies have take home cars, not just sergeants and above. I retired from Metro and now work for the SO and could never be happier about the switch I made. Some of you young pre-madonnas just dont get it. As Deputies on the street we get into just as much stuff as you do. All we do is domestic violence in the EPO/Warrant unit(You know the most dangerous situation an officer can be involved in). If you knew half of how we did our job and the leway the Sheriff gives us to do our job you would be jealous. When is the last time you kicked someones door in, and didn't get **** about it from command. We do it all the time. So before you go making assumptions about deputies next time do a little bit of homework. Man what the hell are they teaching these guys at the academy now. What ever happened to same team mentality. It doesn't matter what color your uniform is we are all brothers working towards a common goal. This statement is not directed towards 80% of metro officers just the 20% who have this God like complex, and don't get me wrong there are deputies who are this way also. This is for guys like a certain traffic officer who wrote a deputy who also retired from metro the other day a citation for 13 OVER!!!! I guess there is no more loyalty between some officers anymore. This is getting ridiculous.

The J.C.S.O. workforce is made up of 70 % retired police.... including me. Its bad times for metro gov. I have no answers to your problem, I'm just glad I retired from LMPD when I did.
