This story is about the CHAMBERS and her caller. Let HER have her day, as WE rarely get any credit for anything we do! Just like you, the officers and deputies, WE catch as much grief and gripe as you do, if not more! Way to go Chambers! I bet I speak with you everyday, and you always do your best! We appreciate you; Thank you! -Your friends at the S.O. !

Exactly. I am pretty sure the lady owes a great deal more to the officers who responded to the scene rather than to the call taker. Yes, they are important, but it does get tiresome seeing others get the credit rather than the ones actually putting their lives on the line.

Yes, the media is quick to point out when one of our officers does something that they can report and get a rise out of people. Yes, they often take a one sided approach and often times the good that our officers do goes without thanks. However, The fact is that this dispatcher went further than most. Many times I have gotten a run and don't have any information because the lazy call taker hadn't bothered to take the time to get more than the minimum amount of information. Being one of the first officers on the scene of this shooting and hearing gunshots coming from inside while walking up to the house, I felt a whole lot better knowing that that dispatcher had the forethought to keep this lady on the phone and was able to keep gathering information. Thanks Ms. Chambers.

They were undoubtedly looking for the VET test study manuals. I heard that they were good kids just trying to get ahead by becomming vets too.

i understand the concern for police officers recieving the respect they deserve for saving this womans life but the rest of the comments make this guy sound like a big jerk. No one deserves to be shot in there own home when they are sleeping.
