It is, to be honest, a bit problematical for the agency to be too supportive of an officer in a particular incident, since that suggests that the agency won't do a full, and thorough, investigation. It would be different if LMPD would requst other agencies do such investigations, but ... we don't. If they are too supportive, as Sherrard was with Luckett and O'Neil, the feds are likely to come in and do an investigation, because judging before the investigation indicates that we aren't doing a fair
