he shot him because the thug came into HIS HOUSE and threatened to kill him and his wife. No matter if he had a gun or not he was a threat.

He is a civilian, not a cop so he doesn't have a Taser. He saw and was struck by one gun, he assumed that both of the perps were armed. I would have!

The perps forcibly entered his home and threatened he and his wife. If your life is in danger you don't have time to perform an inventory of the bad guys tools. "Sorry old chap but would you mind showing me whatever weapons you might have before I decide how to react?" "I will shoot your colleague with the pistol but i am a tad unsure about you."

Relax guys. Not everyone that reads this is a cop. Show a little professionalism. Explain that that is just not the way it is done. Yes, you and I both know there are people out there that don't understand simple things like this. I work in the Highlands and talk about the most clueless group of people. " Can't we all just get along?" No we can't that is why we have police to protect the ones that believe in things like "hugs not drugs" and other phrases will change some thugs outlook on life.
