I agree with my compatriot from the dispatchers side. There was some critical information that was not given to the responding officers that could have made a huge difference. I hope this message is heard and our call takers pry as much info as they can from these callers.

In CIT situations we are told not to play into delusions and to not sugar coat anything. What is wrong with asking flat out, "Does he have a gun or have access to firearms?" If the answer is yes then keep asking questions and make sure the responding officer knows this information.

I am deeply proud of our LPMD dispatchers. They try very hard to take care of me on the street.

AMEN! She is as responsible because she didn't relay this information to the call takers. Our dispatchers try and give all the information they can to our officers and try to obtain as much info as possible from the caller.
