2008 Contract Passes

I am not with the police. I am not E.M.S. I am a civilian who respects the work all of you . I alsoam glad this website is not private. If it were private then people would not be able to support the Police or E.M.S. with various things that you all need public support for. I am sorry to hear about the pay for the cars. I have a lot of Police officers who are friends. I think you all have a great responsibility. I have only one complaint. That is please do not put yourself on a pedistal. I understand your job is stressful , but please do not prsent yourself as better than others. That image was presented by a few.

I work for the state. I have good insurance but the pay sucks but what I do is a stressful job, but rewarding. Be thankful for the benefits that you DO HAVE! I wish it was more for you all but remember why you toook the job in the first place. I have a friend in Iraq .His second tour. He still has 4 more years to go. He told me if he has to go back to Iraq he will do it . It is his job. Your job is what you make it. If you are unhappy with it. Find something else. If I could of voted for you all to get a raise I would of. If I could of voted for you all to not have to pay the $60. 00 for your car I would of. Maybe the public needs more say. Once again I thank the officers, the E.M.S.all the people that help protect my family.

I agree with you, i am a retired police officer, two years ago this June and I think this site should be exclusive to police officers, active and retired. Why should we be open to ridicule, next thing you know the perps will be on here, in fact they probably already are..... I am concerned that we tell all and leave ourselves wide open to criticism, derogatory remarks and biased opinions from people who know nothing about what police officers do. I am from the good old LPD and I am proud of it. I know a lot of you and you know me but most of the crusty old farts are gone. Those were the days. Before I left i had experienced the new FOP and i must admit I like the old FOP. (LPD) I am know I am probably a little biased but I really think that LPD had some good senior people that worked hard o the contract. Yes there were a few that were in it for the perks but I know the majority worked hard. I hope that things change and the new FOP can be effective, fair and diligent. I am reading all these postings and I find it hard to swallow that we are being judged and slandered on our own website. Come on, everyone needs to speak up and fight back. Lets put this into perspective and close the web page to outsiders. This is a police issue not a civilian issue. We can appreciate the positve remarks and the support from those who mean well without giving creedence to those who resent us. God Bless and stay safe.
