My friend, tell that to all the Officers whose names are on a wall in DC. Obviously YOU have never had a criminal attempt to take your life. If you truly understood what it is to be a COP you would know that what WE do IS WORK!!

So go vote for Obama and leave the sheep dogs of this community to do their WORK!!

To the author of the above post; you are off the mark by a wide margin. Dirty laundry needs to be aired. Hiding dirty laundry is what allowed pedophile priests to continue to prey on children, hiding dirty laundry is what allows corruption and mismanagement to grow like a cancer unchecked.

Another point I would like to dispute with you is the comparison everyone always makes to private sector jobs. We are not Ford, GE or UPS. Last time I looked nobody at any of these places were facing down armed suspects. How many times have any of us been in a life threatening situation and then turned around and had to work a 10-49. Our stress levels are like roller coasters and it is a wonder we are now all stress/work related hypertensives.

Tightening belts is exactly what the government should be doing by cutting capital projects and reducing spending. You don't see Ford, GE or UPS having a yard sale and selling off equipment. You don't see them having their little mustachioed spokes weaner tell outright lies to the public. BTW before you say the pink slip thing again remember that it is a private company owned by individuals in order to make a profit. Plain and simple. They are not there to provide a service. They are there to make money. Nothing is done out of the kindness of their hearts.
