2008 Contract Passes

come back and yell after you have had a few contracts under your belt and when you are not so wet behind the ears. If you honestly think that there was going to be something better, you either did not attend any of the meetings, failed to listen to anyone who talked or failed to talk to anyone on the side after the meetings. If this did not pass we would be in a worse situation than we are in now. The only way we are going to get a real good contract is to get this mayor out and someone who appreciates the police. And NO, I am not ready to retire, but have been here long enough to know what reality is.

OK it is time for you to turn the caps lock off. I also voted "no" and I have over 20 years on. Don't speak as if you know that everyone getting ready to retire voted for this contract because you obviously do not "know". Anyone that took the time to break down the monetary portions of the contract for themselves, because I did so in order to find out what the contract meant to me and my family and anyone that either voted yes or no, but did so after examining the facts and determined what they believed was best for them I cannot fault. I personally know of new officers that voted for this contract, middle of their career officers that voted yes and officers that can retire that voted yes. I also know people in each of the aforementioned categories that voted no.
