2008 Contract Passes

I only have one question for everyone complaning about the contract. Did any of you get in on the negotiations or are you content on sitting in the back just waiting to see what is brought up? As for the gas that keeps being brought up, that is something different than the contract. If I remember correctly, the FOP is working on that so you don't have to pay to use it off duty. The bottom line is nothing was going to satisfy everyone. No matter what they brought to the table there were going to be some that wanted more or something different. It is over, move on and pick the next battle.

Amen!!! To many younger officers and ones close to retirement who fell in love with idea of the retro check. They sacrificed being better off in the long run for some quick money. It amazes me that McGuire set there during the debate like a broken record talking about his negotiation skills and this is what he presented to us. The numbers don't lie and he should feel like a fool that the vote was as close as it was. And to the ones who like to compare the cost of insurance to that of other professions ask yourself how many times those people are exposed to MRSA, Hepatitis, HIV, or have to wear kevlar to go do their job? Quit thinking like the herd and start standing up for yourself!

subtract $7,500 from $4,200 for your insurance per year, you still come out +$3,300

well seeing you are so great in math.....(I know, you are a college grad) if you do the calculation as you have it you actucally come up with -3,300 not +. So even for someone as "smart" as you it is not that easy......relax I am just kidding on you being smart.
