2008 Contract Passes

Retro checks. That's one of the reasons this passed. People saw the chance to get a retro check and didn't think long term. The contract info that was printed up also fooled some. On the page that had the pay increases, it showed a per paycheck increase of around $200. Some thought that was going to be this year but actually it was over the life of the contract in 2011.

Many of us went without raises to keep cheap insurance. It doesn't matter what other jobs pay for their insurance. If they want our plans, they should have fought for them like we used to. Don't fall into the divide and conquer mentality that they want you to have.

We need to move on now and live with the contract that was voted in and learn from our mistakes. Let's get ready for the next battle.
